Race to Port Jefferson and Back

First Gun at 11 am: (depending on the participants, we may have two starts:
Low PHRF #’s at 11:00, High PHRF #’s at 10:30) - Monitor channel 68.
Starting line: Cow & Calf (R34) and Nomade or jack rabbit start
First boat who finishes records the times and radio them to Nomade on channel 68
Finish: Green 11 (east of Port Jeff channel)

after the race to be held in the beach located on the peninsula in the West harbor at Port Jeff.

Food: This is a very loose format. The easiest way is for everyone to bring their own food and drinks, and we will either barbecue on the beach or raft
up the boats so we can eat together. Each boat should bring a bundle of firewood for the beach bonfire. Bring plenty of insect repellent as well.
Rules:
- The race will be governed by the racing rules of sailing, United States Sailing association.
- Classes: spinnaker and cruising all leaving at the same time and using PHRF for results.
- No short cuts are allowed.
- Boats with a dinghy will be given a 10% percentage bonus on their PHRF.
Anyone is welcomed, very much in the same spirit of the famous “Around Falkner Island”. If you want to come but do not have sleeping
accommodations, let me know we can arrange to have bigger boats for a sleep over. Please reply soon if you want to come. Thank you. et@comworks.net
